This toggle control whether ad serving should use CPM passed dynamically in the advertiser’s response extension, while still respecting Source‑level CPM floors.
Note: The Pass Price from Extension toggle is available only for Tag‑based Campaigns.
Where to Find the Setting
The toggle is located in Basic Settings → Campaign Pricing for Tag‑based Campaigns.
How the toggle works
When Pass Price from Extension is ON
The system first looks for a valid numeric price in the advertiser response extension (greater than 0).
- If a valid extension price is present, that price is used as the campaign’s CPM for that impression.
- If the extension price is missing or invalid, the system falls back to the campaign CPM you configured in the UI.
- After campaign pricing is chosen (extension or campaign CPM), Source‑level CPM floors are enforced; bids below the Source floor are blocked.
Result: Pricing is dynamic when the advertiser sends an extension CPM, but you still have a fixed campaign CPM as a backup, and Source floors always cap how low impressions can clear.
When Pass Price from Extension is OFF
- The system ignores any price passed in the advertiser response extension.
- Ad delivery uses only the campaign CPM from your Campaign Pricing settings.
Result: Pricing is fully fixed and controlled by the campaign configuration, with Source floors still enforced on top.
Interaction with Source CPM floors
Source‑level “Floor CPM for Publisher” is evaluated after the campaign CPM has been determined (from extension or campaign).
- If the effective CPM for the impression is below the Source floor, the bid is blocked or filtered according to normal floor behavior.
- If the Source floor is 0, impressions may clear at very low prices, depending on what the advertiser sends or what you set at the campaign level.
