To help you manage ad requests that contain empty values for App Name or App Bundle, we have added a special logic to the Override List functionality.
When an ad call is received without an App Name or App Bundle, the platform automatically treats the missing value as "unknown".
This allows you to override such ad calls using the Override List feature.
How to Override Unknown App Names or App Bundles
1. Go to Global Lists → Override List → Create (see detailed instructions here).
2. Fill in the following fields:
-
Key:
App Name(orApp Bundle) -
Value:
App Name(orApp Bundle)
3. After creating the list:
-
-
Open the newly created list.
-
Click Add new item.
-
In the Key field, enter:
unknown. -
In the Value field, enter the App Name or Bundle you want to use as a replacement.
- Attach list to the Supply Source or Campaign.
-
The same logic applies for both App Name and App Bundle overrides.
How to Block Unknown App Names, App Bundles or Domains
If you don’t have a specific value to override and simply want to block ad requests with unknown app names, app bundles, or domains (to prevent them from being sent to demand partners), please follow the steps below:
1. Go to: Tools > Global Lists
2. Create three separate global block lists with the value "unknown" for:
- App Names
- App Bundles
- Domains
3. Apply the lists at the account level: Navigate to Settings > Platform Settings > Global Lists and attach all three lists to the Global Block Lists.
-
It’s crucial to attach all three lists (App Name, Bundle, and Domain), because:
-
If none of these three parameters are present in the ad request, the system will treat the traffic as web.
-
In that case, only the domain list will be applied.
-
-
Even if
&site_url=is not included in the tag, but the supply partner doesn’t send values for&app_bundleand&app_name, the ad request will still be treated as web traffic.
