Overview
VAudio allows audio creatives to be delivered in video environments by combining the audio ad with a visual companion asset.
Instead of displaying a blank or black screen during playback, the platform stitches the audio creative together with a visual asset and delivers it as a video response.
Visual companions can be configured at both the Account and Source levels.
Visual Companion Hierarchy
The platform uses the following fallback order when selecting a visual companion asset:
Source Custom Asset > Account Default Asset > System Default Asset
This guarantees that a visual companion is always available and prevents audio creatives from being delivered with an empty visual experience.
Account-Level Configuration
Navigate to: Platform Settings → Default VAudio Visual Companion
The account-level setting defines the default visual companion that will be inherited by all sources unless a source-specific asset is configured.
Available Options
- System Default
- Custom uploaded asset
Features
- Upload video assets
- Asset preview
- Automatic inheritance by newly created sources
- Existing source customizations remain unchanged when the account default is modified
Supported Asset Type
Account-level VAudio companions support:
- Video assets
Default Behavior
By default, all sources use: System Default Visual Companion
If an Account Default asset is configured, newly created sources automatically inherit it.
Source-Level Configuration
Navigate to: Channels → Sources → Basic Settings → VAudio
A dedicated VAudio section is available within Source settings.
Each Source can have its own VAudio configuration.
Available Options
- Exclude VAudio Format - when enabled, audio creatives will not be converted into VAudio format.
Visual Companion Type
Select the visual asset that will be combined with audio creatives:
- Video Asset
- Static Image
Asset Selection
Choose one of the following:
- Account Default – uses the account-level visual companion
- System Default – uses the platform default asset
- Custom Asset – upload and use a Source-specific asset
Upload Custom Asset
You can upload a custom video or image directly from the Source settings page.
Supported upload methods:
- File upload
- Drag and drop
Asset Preview
Preview the selected asset before saving the configuration.
How Source-Level Priority Works
The platform selects the visual companion in the following order:
Source Custom Asset > Account Default Asset > System Default Asset
If a custom asset is configured on the Source, it will always be used. Otherwise, the system falls back to the Account Default asset and then to the System Default asset.
