Ad Server provides partner segments to enable targeting of third-party users via integrated audiences provided by LiveRamp. Partner segments can be combined with first party segments to generate full funnel targeted campaigns and demand tags. Partner segments are available on a contract only basis and will need to be activated in your account by your account manager.
Activating Partner Segments
- Once your contract is signed and your account manager has granted you access to activate segments you will start by going to “Segments” from the "Tools" menu. Here you will find two new tabs:
- Internal Segments
- Partner Segments
- First party segments
- Choose "Partner Segments." All of the available segments appear by default. From here, you can view all the information associated with a particular Segment and choose which ones you want to use. You will need to select and activate each segment prior to usage.
- To do that you can use the lookup filter. You can also narrow down your search by further filtering by Partner and/or Data Provider.
- You can add additional columns by toggling the switch ON or OFF, based on personal preferences, when accessing the “Actions” column. If you need additional information about a particular segment, you can click the “eye” icon.
- Once you choose the segment that you want, click the "Play" icon from the "Actions" column. You will receive a message indicating that the your request was successful and a clock icon will display indicating that your request is "In Progress." A particular segment could take up to 1 or 2 days processing time to be available.
- Once the segment has finished processing, the segments will appear or disappear on the Line Items → Actions: Create/Edit → Targeting → “Content and Segments” tab - specifically in the “Partner Segments” dropdown, if selected.
Applying a Partner Segment
Partner Segments could be applied to Demand Partners, Campaigns, Demand tags, and Open Market via the Targeting Tab of the tag creation process.
The User Segment Targeting section is collapsed by default. Open it and select custom to create a single list to target or add logic around the segments by grouping them. Single Groups will follow the AND logic where you could choose lists to be true for all selections. Adding more groups applies the OR logic where the users could be in one group or in the other. Segments and Partner Segments could be combined to create first and third party audiences for targeting.
