The DSP provides detailed targeting options within each Line Item, giving you full control over when, where, and how your ads are shown. You can find the Targeting tab within any Line Item editor.
Targeting is split across multiple sub-tabs, allowing for flexible campaign configuration across devices, audiences, content, and inventory.
Global Targeting
This is the default targeting tab and is required.
- Inventory Sources: Choose one or more inventory sources to include. Ads will not serve without at least one selected.
- You can search by source name and toggle between Include and Exclude modes.
Browser, Domain, Geo, and Inventory Tabs
These tabs let you refine delivery based on user environment and geography.
- Browser: Target specific web browsers.
- Domain: Include or exclude by site domain.
- Geo: Target by country, region, city, zip code, or coordinate list. Templates may be used for quick setup.
- Inventory: Choose environment type (In-App, Web, Other), interstitial format, video placement type, and specify IDs for placement, site, or sub-ID targeting.
IP and Mobile App Targeting
- IP: Enter IP ranges or CIDR blocks, or use saved IP lists. Also allows targeting by telecom provider.
- Mobile App: Target using App Name Lists or App Bundle Lists for precision control over mobile inventory.
Platform Targeting
Define the user's technical environment:
- Bandwidth
- Browser
- Ad Size
- Device Type
- Operating System
Each setting has Include/Exclude toggles for granular control.
Time Targeting
Control what days and hours your ads are eligible to run.
- Use the hourly grid to enable or disable delivery by hour/day.
- Select your timezone at the bottom of the screen.
- Use the “Clear” button to reset selections.
Segment Targeting
Use audience segments to reach specific user types.
- Select Segments to Include and/or Exclude Segments.
- Segment lists must be pre-created or synced from data partners.
Content-Based Targeting
Target based on metadata provided by the inventory:
- Content Category, Language, Rating, Producer, Series, Season, etc.
- Fields support comma-separated entries for multiple values.
- You can toggle to Include or Exclude specific values for each field.
⚠️ Note: Content-based targeting will only work if the publisher supplies these fields in the bid request.
Tips
- You can combine multiple targeting types (e.g., geo + platform + time) to narrow your audience.
- Use "Exclude" to block specific users or environments without affecting the rest of your targeting.
- Remember to hit Save before leaving the tab — targeting settings are not auto-saved.
